Mohammadreza Eslami is a graphic designer based in Iran. With a critical approach to design, he wishes to use it as a form of commentary to pursue a practice concerned with social, political, and environmental causes.
Fifi Howls from Happiness* is a documentary about Bahman Mohasses,
a prominent Iranian artist. I chose to carve a portrait of Mohasses on a linoleum sheet to encapsulate the unidentifiable pain and hopefulness
present in his works. I printed the
final result on various materials but I chose the one printed on a guide map of Tehran’s art galleries. The title of the movie at the top reads in Persian:فیفی از خوشحالی زوزه میکشد
*It is also the name of one of Mohasses’ paintings.
